A destination for Mallards, American Coots, and many kinds of gulls, the McBean Wildfowl Pond can be a crowded and hectic place. An occasional Great Egret or Blue Heron wades in the sheltered eastern end of the pond. Don't miss turtles on rocks around the shore basking in the sunshine. If you are in the mood to quietly contemplate nature, follow any path away from the pond. Photos from this zone can be viewed here.
